CAMERA HISTORY

1. The effect came to be known as the camera obscura. This was the first camera. The hole acted like a lens, focusing and projecting light onto the wall of the dark chamber.

2. The modern camera came one step closer when Isaac Newton and Christian Huygens perfected the understanding of optics and the process of making high quality glass lenses.

3.Joseph Nicéphore Niépce added film to create the first successful photograph.

4. Cameras back then and now work the same because, light passes through the lens, into the camera, and exposes the film.

5. Digital cameras capture the images with an electronic sensor called a CCD.

6.Automatic mode is the default for most modern cameras. The photographer can simply aim, press the button, and almost be guaranteed a great image. Program means automatic-assist, just point and shoot. Unlike full auto mode, you can usually control flash and a few other camera settings.

7. Portrait mode blurs out the backround and just focuses on the person.

8. Sports mode helps freeze the image when something is moving.

9. Half press focuses the image and then you can repress it to get a better photo.

10. This symbol means no flash. You would use it when the photo is already bright enough.

11. This symbol mean auto flash. You would use it when you want the camera to decide whats best.

12. If there is too much light in your photo, it will be super bright and you wont be able to see anything.

13. If it is too dark in your photo, there will not be enough light and you wont be able to see anything.

14. Aperture, shutter, and film settings are all divided up into stops.

15. +1 stop

16. +2 stops

17. Longer shudder speed means more light.

18. Shorter shudder speed means less light.

19. Before light reaches film, it must pass through an opening called an Aperture. This controls the openings.

20. If you open the aperture wider, it will create more light.
